Stage 4 - South Wales and back to SE England
So after our late night and overnight in Fishguard we moved on to a certified campsite (Milford Haven - Green Park Pembrokeshire) We have stayed here before and were made welcome both then and now. Here I replaced the kitchen tap with an exact replacement. The owner is a boatbuilder / mechanic / ex craft teacher so help was at hand should I have needed it. Next to Kidwelly a nice little village with a handy rural carpark and adjacent nature field. Then to Brecon area and 3 nights in different carparks or big laybys. Brecon a lovely small town ! Then to the road over the Black Mountain towards Swansea
A lovely mountain road with a selection of camping spots near the summit. Excellent views. From here we drove down into Neath and visited Marcus and Sue. Leaving them our planned overnight was not accessible (narrow bendy bridge) so on to Abergavenney and a field with facilities. Here for 3 nights..Next Goytre and a Rural car-prk which looked great when we arrived..however at night a few quite posh sporty cars arrived with a few comings and goings. Not really sure but we suspected drug use and/or minor dealing. Just uncomfortable but no hassle. Thus we moved on the next day to another rural car park towards the Forest of Dean. This was fine another camper there who was a circus performer and in some ways a traveller. Pleasant man.
Then to Lydney Harbour a very nice spot with lots of dog-walkers in the day but quiet at night. 2 nights followed at a camp-site at Lea OK but too costly.
Next to the Worcester area to visit my parents' and my sister's graves at Powick. A nice is very basis and remote campsite near Hallow.
The road in was tarred but "very single track" with limited passing places. Whilst we were there a caravan towed by a Range Rover arrived...Just glad we did not meet them on the road in (or out)
We then has a "Wildcaping meet" at henley in Arden alll very good
Bank holiday Sunday drive to Forest Hill near Oxford for a pub party. Stopped in a field for 1 night and then in the pub carpark on the Monday.
Back to Maidenhead for the rest of the week. Then to Uckfield to stay with Peter and Annie again. Maidenhead again and we met Kate and Darren.
Finally (yes finally) to Gloucester for 2 nights met with Jim & Gillanthen preparation for storing the motorhome followed by Coach to LHR and fly to Thailand.
